LI Aqua

LI Aqua pigments are water-based and suitable for all permanent makeup techniques, including microblading, manual shading and machine work. They can be diluted with Soft FX should you require a thinner consistency or softer look.

We do not recommend mixing pigments made from a different manufacturers.

  • Are LI Pigments Vegan?Li Pigments is proud to offer cruelty-free, PETA certified, vegan products that are never tested on animals. PETA, an animal-welfare organization, created this symbol for verified companies to indicate that their products are strictly cruelty-free and are not tested on animals during any part of the production.
  • Are LI Pigments certified? Li Pigments products are tested according to local regulations such as the EU Guidelines, which is EU-Resolution ResAP(2008)1. This certification provides a high level of safety and a minimum health risk for our customers by identifying over 93 different substances and compounds as it relates to carcinogenic compounds, colorants, and metals causing allergies and irritations of the skin. 
  • Are LI pigments sterilized? Yes, our raw pigments, materials, and finished product undergo a sterilization process to ensure the formulation’s quality is preserved
  • Do I need to do a patch test? We recommend that our customers perform patch and sensitivity tests on their clients if they are licensed to do so or required to do so in their region. They may also consult the client’s dermatologist and/or physician.
  • How long has LI Pigments been tested in the skin for safety? LI Pigments have been manufacturing pigments since 1992 and have over 40 years of experience.
  • Can I have an ingredients list for a specific LI Pigments product? LI Pigments completes standard SDS documentation that includes a full listing of ingredients used in each specific LI Pigment line. This SDS is available on our SDS resources page. This information may also be shared with your clients’ dermatologist and/or physician to perform patch and sensitivity tests before the procedure.
  • Can I have the SDS for an LI Pigments Product? LI Pigments has updated our MSDS forms to standard SDS forms. This standard SDS documentation includes a full listing of ingredients used in a specific LI Pigment lines.  CLICK HERE for SDS & COLOUR CHARTS 
  • My Client had an allergic reaction, what do I do? We suggest you advise your client to seek medical attention.  
  • Are LI Pigments products MRI safe? LI Pigments has no reported incidences of adverse effects under MRI scanning. Permanent cosmetics and tattoos are typically safe with MRI’s, but there can still be risks. Microscopic needle fragments resulting from certain needle types combined with  certain abrasive pigments may cause a tingling or warming sensation to the patient. Any client with tattoos or permanent makeup should advise the MRI technician before the MRI begins.
  • Do you use methylisothiazolinone and phenoxyethanol in LI Pigments? LI Pigments does not utilize either of the preservatives methylisothiazolinone or phenoxyethanol. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure.
  • Do LI Pigments contain PPD? LI Pigments does not utilize Phenylenediamine, also know as, 1,4-Diaminobenzene, or more specifically, p-Phenylenediamine (PPD) in our products. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure. 
  • Do LI Pigments contain nickel? LI Pigments products have always tested for heavy metal impurities and certify that products have below detectable levels of nickel. Refer to our Heavy Metals Certificates for inspection details.  Be aware that permanent makeup needles do contain nickel and, although generally safe, microscopic fragments of nickel may remain in the skin when certain abrasive pigments are used. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure. 
  • Do any of the LI Pigments lines contain gold or silver? LI Pigments products have always tested for heavy metal impurities and certify that products have below detectable levels of gold and silver.  Refer to our Heavy Metals Certificates for inspection details.  Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure.
  • Do any of the LI Pigments lines contain mercury? LI Pigments products have always tested for heavy metal impurities and certify that products have below detectable levels of mercury. Refer to our Heavy Metals Certificates for inspection details. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure.
  • Do any of the LI Pigments lines contain formaldehyde? No, LI Pigments products do not utilize formaldehyde. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure.
  • Do any of the LI Pigments lines contain nut oils? LI Pigments products do not contain nut oils or share equipment with nut oil products. Should this inquiry be made regarding an allergy, we still recommend consulting your Dermatologist before the procedure.
  • Do you use (insert ingredient) in your pigments?Ingredients are listed on the back of each pigment bottle and can be identified with the products’ Lot & Date Code for your safety.
  • Is the iron oxide used in LI Pigments products a mineral or a metal? LI Pigment products contain iron oxides that are synthesized, not naturally sourced, to ensure the highest level of purity. All iron oxides are considered to contain metal, natural or synthetic, because they contain iron. Even though we use a variety of iron oxides that contain metal, they are not all ferromagnetic.
  • What are aromatic amines? Aromatic amines are a class of chemicals that can be safely used in the manufacture of colorants when properly used in manufacturing. Li Pigments tests all colorants for these and other contaminants.
  • Do LI Pigment products contain carbon? Yes, some LI Pigments products contain carbon. This ingredient should not be of concern because all colours are well-balanced formulations.
  • Do LI Pigment products contain titanium dioxide? Yes, some LI Pigments products contain titanium dioxide. This ingredient should not be of concern because all colours are well-balanced formulations.
